Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
AAA has different websites for different regions of North America. If your home/billing address is in the state of Colorado, you are a member of AAA Colorado. When you visit AAA.com and enter your Colorado ZIP Code, you will be automatically redirected to the AAA Colorado website at Colorado.AAA.com.
If your home/billing address is in another State, you are probably on the wrong AAA website. To get to the right website, visit AAA.com/stop, enter your billing ZIP Code, and you will be redirected automatically to the correct AAA website where your membership account resides.
If you have just moved to Colorado and have a membership issued elsewhere in the United States or Canada, know that your AAA card is recognized in all states and you are entitled to all benefits under your specific membership. Your current home-state membership WILL remain active until the current expiration date as printed on your card, however it is important to update your address with your old AAA club. To do this, visit AAA.com/stop and enter your old ZIP Code to be redirected to your former club website. Upon your renewal date you will be automatically transferred from your old AAA club to AAA Colorado. At that point we will issue you a new membership number, a new card and going forward you can use the AAA Colorado website.
If you have a AAA Colorado membership and have moved out of Colorado, please call us to update your address on your membership. We’ll make sure to let the local AAA office in your area know that you have moved there. Please give us a call at 303-753-8800 or 877-244-9790 and select option 2 at the greeting for Membership and we would be happy to assist you.
If you have a AAA Colorado membership and have moved within the state, simply update your address on the My Account page.
To access your membership account online, you must first create an online account. You will need your membership number and ZIP Code to create an account.
As you create your account, it's a good idea to double check your information for accuracy. Please review the spelling of items including your user name, email address, mailing address and the names of other people inlcuded in the membership.
Troubleshooting tips for acessing your online account:
- One of the most common problems members encounter is that they haven't created an online account. If your last login was before June 21, 2017, you will need to create a new online account. AAA's old account system required only your membership number and a ZIP Code. We have now retired that account management method.
- The second most common problem is forgotten passwords. If you cannot remember your password, click the “I forgot my password link.” If this process doesn't work, create a new password here. If you don't receive an email from us, you may have been unsubscribed from our mail server. To reinstate your email subscription, visit Colorado.AAA.com/enewsletters, then enter your email address and click 'Reinstate Subscription' at the bottom of the page. Afterwords, try resetting your password again and you should receive the password reset email from us.
- The first 6 digits of your member number should begin with 429 006. If the first 6 digits of your member number are different than this, then you are a member of another AAA club and will need to visit the other club's website to access your account.
- To access a different AAA website, visit AAA.com/stop and enter the ZIP Code of your billing address. This will redirect you to your AAA website.
- If you are certain that you have registered an online account that uses an email address and a password, and have attempted the 'Forgot Password' but still cannot login, please email us or call Membership Help during business hours at 866-625-3601.
From any page of the Colorado.AAA.com website, click on 'My Account' in the top right of the blue header. When you reach the account page, there is a 'Log Out of AAA.com' text link on the right hand side.
- Download the AAA app.
- Within the App log in to your account (if you don’t yet have an account, create one first).
- Tap the headshot silhouette icon in the upper left.
- Tap the View Card icon near the top of the screen.
- Tap the Add to Apple Wallet icon in the lower right.
- Tap Add in the top line.
- Voila! Voici!
To access member only content and savings, you must create an online account and be logged in to the website. You will need to provide your member number, an email address and your ZIP Code to create an online account.
There is no waiting period. You can use your Emergency Road Service benefits for a tow of up to 7 miles as soon as you become a member. If your tow is more than 7 miles, you must join at the appropriate membership level, but there will be an same-day membership fee in addition to your AAA membership. Same-day membership fees are $145 for Plus membership, $395 for Plus RV membership (up to 100 miles), $245 for Premier membership or $595 for Premiere RV (up to 200 miles one-time per year).
Call 800-AAA-HELP or use the web site to request service.
Your benefits do not extend to other members of your household or family unless they are added to your AAA membership. Your roadside benefits do apply to you as a passenger, though, so you are covered no matter who is driving. Any household members added to your AAA membership (associate members) receive the same benefits as you.
Visit the Compare Membership Levels page to see a comparison chart of different membership levels and associated benefits.
The most signficant difference is the Emergency Road Service benefits associated with different membership levels.
AAA’s Basic membership provides 7 miles of towing in any direction from the disablement. If you wish to be towed to your favorite mechanic — and he is located more than 7 miles from the breakdown — additional mileage charges of may be incurred.
AAA’s PLUS and PLUS RV memberships provide 100 miles of towing in any direction from the disablement. PLUS members also get increased services like fuel delivered at no charge when you are out of gas, increased auto locksmith services and more.
AAA’s PREMIER and PREMIER RV membership provides 200 miles of free towing for one of your four service calls per household. PREMIER members get even more benefits like home lockout service, one day car rental with a breakdown and enhanced travel services.
If AAA assistance was available but not requested, the assistance may be limited to amount AAA would normally have paid.
To request reimbursement for Roadside Assistance, submit proof of payment within 90 days of service. AAA may adjust or deny reimbursement for service provided by individuals or companies not normally engaged in providing Roadside Assistance for AAA organizations. Members will not be reimbursed for services for certain police controlled tows involving violation of laws.
Send reimbursement requests for Roadside Assistance to:

Don’t confuse ‘towing mileage’ with ‘distance to the disablement.’ AAA will travel any distance to get TO a stranded member.
Once there, AAA’s Basic membership provides seven miles of free towing in any direction. That’s sufficient to get you to a repair facility in most cases. We can even search for AAA Approved Auto Repair facilities near you.
If you wish to be towed to your favorite mechanic — and they're located more than 7 miles from the breakdown — mileage charges may be incurred. AAA’s PLUS and PLUS RV membership provide for 100 miles of towing in any direction. Upgrade to Plus today!
AAA does not cover towing INTO impound, but we would probably be able to tow it out for you once all charges against the car are paid. You will have to be present at the impound lot to take possession of the vehicle–AAA cannot do that for you.
AAA would then tow the car from the impound lot 4 miles if you are a basic AAA member, or 100 miles if you are a AAA PLUS member.
EnCompass is our award-winning magazine which features local and regional events, travel promotions, member discounts and automotive news. This magazine is mailed to each household 6 times per year.
To get coverage for motorcycles, you will need to upgrade your coverage level to either Plus RV/Motorcycle or Premier RV/Motorcycle. See our Membership Types and Prices to learn more about the different membership levels available.

Thanks for your interest in AAA. We have a very active population of AAA members in towns all over the state – many of them not served by a local office. Our investment in telephone technology and the Internet have paid off big for those members. We are very much a part of their lives. The services you are most likely to use can be accessed as follows: Automotive Services has several Approved Auto Repair (AAR) facilities in your area. Check the website under Auto Repair & Maintenance for their names. Members can call for Roadside Assistance using 800-AAA-HELP. Members can access nearly all travel and insurance products on here at AAA.com and by telephone at 866-625-3601. Maps, TourBooks and TripTiks can be ordered on AAA.com. It will take 10 days to two weeks for materials to arrive. Or, the new Internet TripTik can be designed online and printed right on your home computer. As always, AAA will continue to promote AAA membership in all parts of the state. If the membership base in any area grows to the point that a Member Store is economically feasible, we will consider plans for expansion there. When calling 800-AAA-HELP, your location may be obtained to route your call to the nearest AAA Roadside Assistance Center.
