Pining for beauty

Rich Day of Westminster submitted online this photo of Bristlecone pine on Mt. Evans. “It was thrilling to drive up Mt. Evans and see the mountain goats, the beautiful scenery and, of course, the Bristlecone pine,” Day tells EnCompass. “We are so enthralled with the beauty of our state that we try to venture out to take pictures and enjoy it.” His camera: Nikon D5000 with a Tamron 18-270 zoom lens.

Falling in love

Paul Iwancio of Wheat Ridge submitted by email this photo of Rifle Falls. “I love waterfalls; however, my wife, Nita, has limited mobility. So, I searched for a more accessible location where we could both enjoy the view,” Iwancio tells EnCompass. “We savored the cooling mist coming off the triple waterfall, on this hot day. It was a welcome treat and other visitors were enjoying the waterfall as much as we were.” His camera: Nikon D5200.
