President’s Message: Thank You, Linda Cavanagh!

EnCompass Magazine

This column typically features a few thoughts from AAA Colorado’s President and CEO Linda Cavanagh. However, for this edition, we would like to do something a little different: Congratulate Linda on her retirement, and thank her for her many years of service to this great state through her work at AAA Colorado!

Linda’s legacy may be best framed as a trailblazer with a keen business sense and a deep commitment to treating people right.

In 2016, she was appointed AAA Colorado’s first female president and CEO, following successful stints overseeing nearly every single aspect of our operations, from roadside assistance to travel to insurance to human resources—and more.

Over the course of Linda’s tenure, AAA membership has grown from 16 million to 60 million! During her term as president, AAA Colorado has grown more than 2.5 percent each year, all while reaching new highs in member satisfaction. AAA Colorado has also won significant national recognition and awards for innovation, civic engagement, public service, discounts and rewards, travel services, and more. The list goes on and on.

In the community, Linda has served in leadership positions at the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors of fallen military heroes (TAPS), and Warren Village, among others.

Perhaps most importantly, as president and CEO, Linda drew from her many years leading human resource teams to create a culture of kindness, collaboration, and mutual respect across AAA Colorado. She’s made it a joy to work here as she instilled in every employee a dedication to serving Coloradans when and how they expect. Perhaps this is why our member satisfaction levels have increased—happy employees = happy members?

We’re so grateful for everything that Linda has done for this state, this organization, and for members. For her part, Linda leaves AAA with the same promise to Colorado that has characterized her time here. “Doing right by this great state has been our driving principle since 1922,” says Linda. “I’m confident AAA Colorado will be able to make an even greater impact in the communities we serve and build meaningfully upon our ability to shape Colorado’s future—just as we’ve always done. It’s been a privilege to lead AAA Colorado to this exciting point in our history, and I know that even brighter days are ahead.”

From all of us here at AAA Colorado, please join us in thanking Linda, and congratulating her on her retirement!
